You know I am a big fan of veggie burgers right ? Well the other day I made a little bit too much rice… I know it also happened to you also right ?… hahaha I know, it happens to everyone ! So I thought why not preparing some veggie burgers with veggies. I had some carrots, beetroots and I just did two types of veggie burger with some simple ingredients. The base for the burger is to have a base (haha, really?), like rice, potato or cereal (quinoa, millet for example) then you add some eggs (if vegetarian) or flour (if vegan) or corn / rice flour (if you eat gluten free) so the mixture hold together when you cook it. This is the most important, then you can add whatever you want to this mixture such as veggies, seeds, spices etc…

What is Inside ?
  • 300g cooked rice
  • 4 carrots, grated
  • 3 tbsp sour sauce
  • 150g flour (rice, corn or normal flour)
  • 1 handful of carrot tops
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 80g sunflower seeds
  • some fresh basil
  • salt & pepper
  • 300g cooked rice
  • 4 beetroots, grated
  • 3 tbsp sour sauce
  • 150g flour (rice, corn or normal flour)
  • 1 handful of beetroot tops
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 80g flaxseeds
  • some fresh mint
  • salt & pepper
How to Make it ?
  1. Cook your rice or use a left over of rice like I did
  2. In your food processor grate your beetroot/carrots with the garlic, beetroot/carrot tops and the basil/mint
  3. Add in the rice, the sour sauce, the flour, the seeds, salt & pepper and mix everything with your hands
  4. Pre-heat your oven at 180 degrees while you make the burgers
  5. Start making little burgers and place them on a baking tray
  6. Bake them 10 minutes on each side and let them cool down a little bit because they will be fragile right after baking them
  7. You can eat them as a burger with some bread or just with a salad as on the picture
  8. This version is vegan but you can of course add some cheese on top !
